The Bible tells us about divine healing.  Jesus performed many miracles during the time he walked on earth healing the sick that came to him. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Consequently, he has the power to heal the sick today.

Jesus gave his disciples the authority to heal the sick in His name. The last thing he communicated before ascending to sit at the right hand of God was, "lay hands on the sick, and they will recover".

Mark 16:15-20 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.

... "lay hands on the sick, and they will recover" is a promise that gives authority to those who believe in Him to pray for the healing of the sick.

Are you sick? The Bible communicates the steps to take for healing. James 5:14-16 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
